Pioneer bosses step down Jap Drama

Pioneer bosses fall on swords

TOKYO - Struggling Japanese electronics maker Pioneer said its
chairman and president will both step down to take the blame for
mounting losses after price wars hit sales sales of DVD recorders
and plasma TVs.

President Kaneo Ito and chairman Kanya Matsumoto, son of the
company's founder, will leave their posts to take responsibility
for the recent downturn. Vice president Tamihiko Sudo has been
promoted to president.
